Information Collection and Usage

Our primary purpose in collecting personal information from you is to provide you with a safe, smooth, efficient, and customized experience. We collect personally identifiable information when you register to join 500eco by logging into an account that you already have with certain third-party social networking sites (“SNS”) (including, but not limited to, Facebook and Twitter) via our Service. For example, our Service allows you to create an account and login to the Service using your Facebook account credentials through Facebook Connect. If you are not currently registered as a user on the Service and you click on “Login with Facebook,” you will asked to enter your Facebook credentials. Other information we collect from you include, without limitation, email address, your name and website. (together, Personal Information).

We also collect other information that you provide as part of registration (e.g., without limitation, zip code (on its own) or demographic information) ("Non-Identifying Information"), which means that the information cannot be used to identify you, for example zip code or age.

If you decide to create your User account by logging into a SNS via the Service, you are using the Personal Information you have already provided to the SNS (such as your “real” name, email address and other information you make publicly available via the SNS) to create your User account on our Service; the information we collect may depend on the privacy settings you have with the SNS, so please consult the SNS’s privacy and data practices. For example, by using Facebook Connect, you are allowing 500eco to access the Personal Information in your Facebook account pursuant to the Facebook Terms of Use regarding your use of the Service via Facebook.

When you visit the Site, whether as a registered or a non-registered user just browsing, we automatically record information that your browser sends whenever you visit a website (“Log Data”). This may include information such as your computer's Internet Protocol ("IP") address, browser type or the webpage you were visiting before you came to our Site or the webpage you next go to, pages of our Site that you visit, the time spent on those pages, information you search for on our Site, access times and dates, and other statistics. We use this information to monitor and analyze use of the Site, the Service and for the Site's technical administration, to increase our Site's functionality and user-friendliness, and to better tailor our Site to our visitors' needs. Web Beacons

Social Networking

We maintain accounts with social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter. If you choose to add us as a friend on Facebook, to follow our Twitter account or to follow us on any other social networking site, we may receive information about you including your name, your profile picture, your email address, your gender, your birthday, your user ID, any comments that you choose to make on the site and any other information that you provide on the site. We may use the information we receive from you or that we obtain through your use of the site to send you promotional materials and to communicate with you concerning our sites.

We may permit third party services available through our Site like, without limitation, Facebook's "Like" or Twitter’s “Tweet” feature, to run on the Marketing Page generated by our registered users. This feature not only allows you to "like" the Marketing Pages found on our Site, but also may be used to link particular Marketing Pages with other Facebook users that have indicated that they "like" that Marketing Page. Other Facebook users that like the same Marketing Page as you may be able to see that you also like the same Marketing Page. The actual information that we may obtain from the Facebook system will depend on what privacy settings selections you have made on Facebook.com, but may include your name, gender, Facebook picture, email, birthday, the identity of your friends, your user name, networks you are involved in, your friends likes and your likes, as well as your Facebook music, TV, books, quotes, and status updates. We may also obtain the identity of your Facebook friends and others using Facebook may also be able to see your likes. Finally, by "liking" a Marketing Page found on our Site, you consent to allow us and the registered user who generated the page to use that information in either commercial or non-commercial ways, including but not limited to advertising or marketing.

If you have an account with a third party service that has features available on our Site, such as Facebook, and you later terminate your account with the third party service, we may retain information about you that we obtained through your use of the third party service and we may continue to use your information to send your promotional materials or to communicate with you about our Site.

My Actions and Discounts

As a feature of our Site, you may have the ability to express interest in discounts for some types of products or services or, you can generate a collection of actions which will be saved to your My Actions collection. We may use this information to serve relevant ads to you. We may send you promotional materials for products and services that may fulfil the actions in My Actions collection or, for which you have explicitly indicated that you are interested in discounts.

Mobile Application

Our Mobile Application allows users to access and use the Service from their mobile devices. From the Mobile Application, you also have the option to identify the location of User Content that you wish to upload to our Service. In addition, in the event that our Mobile Application crashes on your mobile device, we will receive information about your mobile device model, software version and device carrier, which allows us to identify and fix bugs and otherwise improve the performance of our Mobile Application.

Information Sharing and Disclosure

Aggregate Information

We may share aggregated information that does not include Personal Information and we may otherwise disclose Log Data with third parties for industry analysis, demographic profiling and other purposes. Any aggregated information shared in these contexts will not contain your Personal Information.

We may combine your Personal Information with Non-Identifying Information and aggregate it with information collected from other 500eco users to attempt to provide you with a better experience, to improve the quality and value of the Service and to analyze and understand how our Service is used. We may also use the combined information without aggregating it to serve you specifically, for instance to deliver a product to you according to your preferences or restrictions.

Service Providers

We may employ third party companies and individuals to facilitate our Service, to provide the Service on our behalf, to perform Site-related services (e.g., without limitation, maintenance services, database management, web analytics, sending emails, fraud detection services relating to the activity of 500eco users and improvement of the Site's features) or to assist us in analyzing how our Site and Service are used. These third parties may have access to your Personal Information; if they do, this access is only so that they may perform these tasks on our behalf and they are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose. We also use Google, as a third party vendor, to serve 500eco advertisements on other websites. We may disclose personally identifiable information collected about you in the following instances:

Legal Action: We may disclose information about our users, including personally identifiable information; (i) when requested by governmental or quasi-governmental authorities conducting an investigation; (ii) if required to do so by subpoena, court order or legal process; (iii) to verify or enforce compliance with the policies governing our Site and applicable laws; or (iv) to protect against misuse or unauthorized use of our Site. Forum and Blogs

If you post on our forum or blog your username and other information you include is displayed in your postings or comments, and is therefore available to the public. All of your activities in the public areas of the forum will be identifiable to your User ID, and other people can see your published content.

Security

We follow generally accepted industry standards to protect the personal information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. No method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure, however. Therefore, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Children

The Site is not directed to individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13.
